Work Hard, Play Hard: Trim the Hedges

Work Hard, Play Hard: Trim the Hedges

How To:

Find a bush that can easily be cut with a pair of child’s safety scissors.  Also, preferably a bush in your backyard that you won’t mind if it looks a little bare or lopsided!  Give your child the scissors and let them go to town giving the bush a “haircut”.  Cutting is great for fine motor skill development and increasing hand strength.

Inspiration:

The kids saw me trimming the hedges and thought it looked like fun!  Usually Mr Rockstar is not a fan of cutting but trimming the hedges is more fun than cutting paper evidently.  I was surprised how long and diligently the kids spent helping trim the hedges.
